Gradnchildren's Birthday Party Invitation

I used Merry Monsters B1333 to make these. I have 4 Grandchildren so each child got to hand out their own monster invitation. Inside I have a Menu on the top portion, Bloody Fingers, Maggots al a Carte and Snail slime surprise. If you want to know how to make any of these items just drop me an email and I will explain, these are all edible foods with gross names. I will try to post some pics from the party so you can see our decorations. My Daughter and Son-in-Law have made an eyeball Pinnate and graves for the yard. They will be playing Pumpkin Golf, Bowling with pumpkins and flashlight tag. We have prizes and medals for the winners.

Don't forget to check back on Sunday or Monday for the pics.

Hailey turns 4!

Wow, I can hardly believe she is only 4. She is so much fun and so bright, she is a joy to be around. When she was little, like about 5 - 6 months she used to caress our long hair and then rub her almost bald head, like I hope I grow some hair soon. Now she is wondering when she will get big boobs like mom.
She has a favorite stuffed little Chihuahua his name is "Dirt" and he has been washed so many times that his eyes are white, so now they look like he has cataracts. The other day she asked her mother to play "Go Fish". (which she doesn't really know how to play yet) Dawn asked her if she had a 10 and showed her the card so she would know what she was looking for, she said no and asked if it were her turn. Dawn said it was, so Hailey holds up a Jack and asks "Do you have a Cataract?" I laughed so hard I had tears and I thought Dawn was going to fall off the chair.
Teacher Jamie gave Hailey her crown so she could be the birthday princess for the day. I make the crowns for Pre-School and everybody loves them.

It is sad, but by the time Hailey's birthday comes we are all tired of cake so we bought Hailey a cupcake of her own. We sang Happy Birthday and then gave her the presents.

Mom and Dad gave her the new Tinker Bell movie.
Grandma and Grandpa gave her the Littlest Pet Shop Stuffed Penguin and she named her Swimmera. I hope I can remember that.

For Easter I gave her a Littlest Pet Shop Stuffed Bunny and she named it "Flying Rope" and called it a dog. Nobody told me she had named it and she woke up in the middle of the night crying for Flying Rope and I didn't know what she was looking for so I said "I'm sorry, but I can't find "Flying Rope" will you sleep with your new bunny? She was so happy, she said "You found Flying Rope, thanks Grandma you're the best! She cuddled up and went back to sleep.

The Birthday Bug.

Yesterday was my Daughter, Dawn's Birthday and she is down with Bronchitis. My SIL is sick with the Flu and my two Granddaughters have a cold. So you can tell we're having fun around here. I have been trying to stay away from all the sickies so I have been playing in my craft room. I have made another altered Rolodex. I got a little carried away, but I think it turned out cute. I have one card that is unfinished but I am looking for the right stamp or die cut to put on it. I know I have something around here some where. lol

The paper is Back Country level 2 and the Stamp set is C1363 Beary Best. The tent and canoe are Sizzlit Die cuts and the trees are Cuttle Bug die cuts. The Fishing Creel is from Stamp set C1277 Catch of the Day and the Fishing pole, water and fish are from D1342 Worlds Best Dad.
The alphabet I used is D1222 Tiny Typewriter. I printed the word Contacts and punched it out with my oval punch.

Okay, tell me the truth! Did I get carried away?

Thanks for leaving me a comment and I hope you enjoyed my altered rolodex.

Zack turns 9.

Wow, what an exciting day. Before the boys left for school Dawn, (my Daughter) gave Zack his birthday present. A Gangster, hat as he calls it. I wish I would have had my camera ready, we could have lit up the house with the smile on his face. Then after dinner I gave Zack a cupcake with $15.00 in it, and took these pics.
He made sure I got a close up shot of him and his money.
He is reading the card I put in the cupcake, he can read cursive!!!

He has such a contagious laugh, that you can't help but laugh with him.

Zack had a rough start, 4 weeks early and weighted in at 6 lbs 2 oz, 9 days in the NICU and we finally got to bring him home. He was 5 lbs 12 oz. Then he got RSV. By the time he was 6 months he was much better. At 2 he developed a liver issue which he underwent a biopsy for and they found nothing wrong. So glad those days are over. He was such a quiet baby even when he was hungry, you could hardly hear him cry. Some days I wish those days were back. He doesn't sit still very well, always has to be moving or tapping on something. Has a very sensitive side, and loves to make people happy. He is such a sweetheart!

Thanks for letting me share Zack's birthday pics, and reminisce.

Another Altered Rolodex

Here I used the Emporium paper pack only I may have gone a bit over board. I took one of my 2 way glue pens and followed the blue design and added glitter. I really like how it turned out. I couldn't get the lighting right to show the true sparkle. As you can see in the picture below, I used that new Vintage Label punch again.

All the paper and all but one of the ribbons is Close To My Heart. I used the Sparkles and the Tiny Type Writer Alphabet stamp set.

Altered Rolodex

I used the Tickled Pink Paper pack from a special earlier this year. It is hard to see but the circles where the months are stamped I did a second generation stamping technique, and alternated between Blush and Crystal Blue. The Striped paper has glitter and I added some glitter to the centers of the flower that you can see the centers of. On the January card I used a Vintage Label punch and punched the Blush textured cs and used the lighter side and an oval from the Daisy White cs that I had printed the word Birthdays on. I sponged the edges of both pieces. I punched out 6 daisy's from some of the scraps of the floral paper in different sizes and layered them and secured them with a brad and glue dot. I added a couple sparkles and some leaves and this is the results.
I am having so much fun making these, that I am behind on my Birthday cards again. So I guess you know what I get to do tomorrow since I have to mail 8 cards on Monday. I do have a couple done and ready for the mail. I am sending the butterflies to 2 lucky ladies, and no I'm not telling you who.

While making this Rolodex I found that reading glasses really helped me see where to put the little acrylic stamps and to position them better. Yes, you read that right, I now have reading glasses. I actually bought them months ago, but didn't want to wear them too much till I saw an eye Dr. and I did that last Sunday. She said that I really do need to wear them for reading or close up work like beading or stamping. The good news is that I don't have to get the expensive ones yet. She even took a look at the ones I had with me and said that I picked out the right ones for me. I was only wearing them at home till I tried to read something at the store and couldn't so I got a pair to carry with me.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think about my artwork or ramblings. Even better sign up to follow my blog.

Thanks for stopping by to see what is new.

CupCake Gift Card Holder

I was asked to show the Cupcake better, so here is the Cupcake that my Grandson Jordan was pretending to eat on his birthday. I do have instructions if anyone is interested in making these. I do mine a little different than most. I use satin ribbon and gather it up and hot glue it on. Most people use paper and flowers.

I used the Tinkerin level 2 paper pack for this paper cup

This is the first one I made and I used white lace on it. I gave it to my Brother and Sister-in-law for their Birthday's last December. They loved it!!!
I used the Daydream level 2 paper pack for the paper cup on this one.

This pic shows the gift card laying next to the cupcake.
I personally like the way that the satin ribbon looks more like frosting. I have made several of these now and the Chocolate is my favorite.

Teresa Black has a YouTube video on her website also. http://fabulouslyartsy.blogspot.com/

Jordan's and Mary's Birthday!

We have 5 birthdays in October at my house, we usually stay home and have just the 9 of us on the actual birthday. We have one Giant birthday party later in the month and the 4 Grandkids get to invite 3 friends each. They love Halloween, so we usually have a dress up Halloween party. The neighborhood kids are so excited about it this year, that some of the adults want to come too. I hope they are willing to help out if needed.

Here are a couple pictures of Jordan & Mary last night. Jordan turned 11. I can remember when he was born, like it was yesterday. He was such a sweet and patient baby, and he loved to have his Grandma sing him to sleep. If I was holding him around his nap time and I didn't start singing, he would touch my lips and grunt, till I started singing.
Jordan tried to eat his cupcake but said it was a little dry. I gave him a gift card to Barns & Noble, he was so excited. He loves books. He has on 3-D glasses, but I'm not sure why. He is kind of goofy sometimes.
I gave Mary a Disney Princess Sticker Machine for her birthday. She loves to be creative. And she has 3-D glasses on too. Maybe they have been hanging out with me too much.

Mary turned 7. Mary was a sweet baby too, but by the time she was 5 months she knew what she wanted. If she saw the boys had a sandwich, she wanted one too, it didn't matter that she didn't have teeth. She would scream until she got one. By the time she was 9 months, if we showed her a new shirt that we liked and she didn't, she would hold her hand up in front of her and turn her head away, like don't even show me that. She was spoiled, but very funny. We would show her things just to see her do her little routine. I wish I had gotten it on video. I didn't get to spend quite as much time with Mary as I did the rest, because I was working full time then they moved 25 miles away. I know 25 miles isn't that far, but when you are used to seeing them all the time, it's too far.

Thanks for letting me share my joys with you. I'll have more later in the month. Remember, I still have 2 Grand babies birthdays to celebrate this month.
