All Hallows Eve is upon us once again.

As the day progresses, we will have to remember that our tiny future leaders will be out in costume so excited they may not remember to watch where they are going.  They will be pretending to be Heroes and Vilians, Princesses, Unicorns and some many more.  They might be practicing what to say when they get to the door, or maybe they are thinking about where to hide their candy from others. In any case we need to be super observant today especially tonight when it's getting dark and the kids are in search of the perfect house to trick or treat at.

Halloween is just around the corner.

I have been busy helping the Ladies Auxiliary making masks for their annual Halloween Party on Sunday October 25, 2014 from 2-5 pm. The party is open to the public. It is held at the Three Rivers VFW Post 1324 located at 104 Tumwater Dr. Oregon City, OR over looking the Falls in Oregon City above Hwy 99 E.

Here are the masks that I made kits for:

I also have the Red Angry Bird and the White Angry Bird

I hope the kids like them.
I used Close To My Heart paper and Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, the Chick & Scary Cricut cartridge along with the Paper Doll Dress up Cricut cartridge.

Need any ideas for table decorations for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner this year?

Here is a cute little Turkey I found on Google this week.
This Turkey is made using the Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut Cartridges.  I used the Pathfinding paper pack to create this Turkey.  I also use Burlap ribbon on the head and neck.  I cut 4 of each Strip to make one medallion.  I don't think that is necessary though.  This Turkey stands 4 1/4" tall.  I did not sponge ink on the head like the tutorial shows, but I will before I am done. I included the link to the tutorial that I found.  http://cricutwithheart.blogspot.com/2012/11/clementine-turkey.html

60 years, that is amazing.

I took some time today to make a card for a 60th Wedding Anniversary. Wish I could go to their party.

I used the Artphilosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut the labels and flowers and leaves. I used Honey, Olive and Daisy White cardstock. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and my Sizzix flower tools to give the flowers some dimension. I used New England Ivy marker to add lines to the leaves and scored them with a tiny stylus. I sponged the edges of the Swiss Dots embossed paper and the label with the Happy Anniversary stamped image. I took a Gold metallic marker and created a dotted line around the label. I tied an organza ribbon around the embossed paper before I adhered it to the card base. I almost forgot. I used Martha Stewart's clear micro beads to fill in the centers of the flowers, then I added some Liquid Glass to the petals and leaves to look like morning dew. I choose Yellow for the flowers because Hallmark Anniversary List said yellow was the color for 60 years.

I really need to start creating more, it's so relaxing.

A visit from the Ladies Auxiliary National President.

It was such an honor to welcome the Ladies Auxiliary National President Ann Panteleakos to Oregon City and our Post 1324.   Below is a picture (L-R) of our President Tracy Bogart, our District President Patricia Carroll, our State President Linda Rose, and the Ladies Auxiliary National President Ann Panteleakos.
Here is our President Tracy Bogart, Ladies Auxiliary National President Ann Panteleakos and our Post Commander DJ Ruger.

This is how we set up the post for the wonderful spaghetti dinner that we served.
This is only half of our post.

everyone loved the decorations and the food.
The lady standing in this picture is Jan Halverson, our Ladies Auxiliary State Secretary.
We had Ladies Auxiliary members from Canby, Molalla, Salem, Sandy and Redmond OR. We also had a few Post members, Jim McDonald, Tracy Bogart, Ann Panteleakos, DJ Ruger, Maurie and in the back is Tom. I have to apologize because I don't know Maurie's or Tom's Last names or Post positions.  They are all great guys and fun to work with.  So glad they came today.
Ann Spoke today about recruiting new members and how important that we rebuild our membership.  We lost 40,000 members nation wide this last year.  If you or a member of your Family are Veterans of Foreign Wars, meaning you/they went over seas, you could be eligible to join the Ladies Auxiliary and help our Veterans even more.  With so many of our family members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan we have big shoes to fill.  We need all the help we can get.

We just learned of some local families who's spouse's have been deployed recently are in need of help any one can help and if you can spare a few cans of food or really just about anything that would help a lot.  You can contact me 503-708-6889 or you can stop by the post on Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm or you can call the VFW Post 1324 503-655-6969 and arrange a time to drop items off.

I am so excited to see all the activity on my blog.

I just want to say Thank You all for stopping by and taking a look.  Please leave me some messages as I would love to hear from you.  My visitor counter still isn't working right. It shows that I now have had 49,073 visitors.

Don't forget, I am having a mystery hostess drawing on November 1st for all purchases made in October.  Here is a link to my website where you can join the Mystery Hostess Gathering. http://janicewilson.ctmh.com/Default.aspx

I am working on some goody bags for Halloween and although they are a work in progress I wanted to share what I have done so far.

The Bag in a box is from the Scardy Cat paper pack and the characters are from Frightly Fun B1453 and Trick or Treat Sweets B1460.
I used some Stampin' Up punches and the Artphilosophy Cricut Cartridge for the shapes.  I still have to make the handles and fill them.
Here are the masks I cut from the Chic and Scary Cricut cartridge for our Safety/ Halloween party that is open to the public.  It will be on Sunday October 26, 2014 at the VFW 1324 Post 104 Tumwater Dr, Oregon City, OR 97045 from 2-5 pm.
Tumwater Dr. over looks the Falls in Oregon City.
Here I took the basic shapes and created animals with just a few scrap pieces of paper.

Here is the big project that I have been working on.

The Ladies Auxiliary National President Ann Panteleakos is coming to our Post for a visit on Sunday and we are serving dinner.  Several of us get together on Thursday nights and craft.  We decided to make table decorations for her visit.  I will have more pics on Sunday night or Monday as I am also the Historian and will be there for the event.  Here are a couple pictures of what we made.
We made decorations for 26 tables that seat 8 people.  We are expecting over 100 people to join us from all the surrounding area Auxiliary's including local officials. This event is open to the public.

I just hope I'm not spoiling any surprises by posting this.  I am just so excited that it is all coming together so nicely.

If you would like to know more about the Ladies Auxiliary, here is a link.  http://www.ladiesauxvfw.org/

You can join the Auxiliary at that link as well.  We are always looking for new members.  We have a tall order to fill with so many Veterans returning home.  We can use all the help we can get.

Hope you are having a wonderful fall day.

Updated my Visitor Counter.

I have been watching my Stats on my Dashboard and they kept leaping by hundreds, but the counter that shows on my blog was just creeping up.  So I updated my Visitor Counter and can I say WOW!!!  I had no Idea I was getting so many hits.  Can you believe I have 47,403 hits? It amazes me.

I really have been crafting, I joined the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 1324 in June and have been helping get ready for the National President's visit on October 12th.  I can't show you what I have been making, because we want it to be a surprise and I don't want to spoil it just in case anyone sees my posts.  I know Phat chance of that happening, but just in case.

I have also made some masks for the Safety/Halloween event the Ladies Aux. puts on every year also. Those I can show you, but not today.  I am still making samples.

I am getting ready to start playing with my new Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge soon, so stay with me a little while longer.  I promise to show you all kinds of fun stuff.

I have been very busy with my TuVous Jewelry, going to events and keeping my Facebook, Blog and Website all caught up.  That right there is a chore.

I have started walking to help me recover from my breathing issues earlier this spring and summer.  I had a Angiogram 2 weeks ago and Dr. Greenberg said my heart is in great shape, sooo glad that Dulera didn't leave permanent damage to my heart.  I was so worried that it had.

I have a crop at my house this Saturday, so I better get ready to have some fun.  I have the best group of ladies that come to crop.

Hope you have a great week,

Happy Scrappin',
