Update on Baby Chicks

Here is the newest picture of the new baby chicks.  They are so cute.

Sarasvati and Medusa have combined their nests and both are setting on the 6 eggs that are left.  They are raising the chicks together.  It shouldn't be too long now before the other eggs start to hatch.

I will be watching them closely to see which of the roosters the chicks are from.  We had a White Silkie and gave him away just about the time that Sarasvati started to brood.  We still have a Cochin Bantam Rooster and a Red Frizzle Bantam rooster.

Here are a few more pictures.  They are 4 days old today.
Here two of them are drinking.
The darker one decided it needed a drink too.
The Mommas decided to join them for a drink.

They are such good Mommas, sometimes they won't let us see the babies and other times they push the babies out from under their wings, so that we can see them.  When we went back out this evening we found another baby chick so we are now up to 4 babies.  Hopefully they will all hatch by tomorrow Morning so I won't have to worry all evening, while I am in Estacada helping my Daughter with her Ice Cream Trailer.  If you are near Estacada Tomorrow between 5pm & 10pm or on Saturday from 10:00am and 10:00pm stop by the Ice ream Trailer and say Hello.

We will be at Wait Park in Canby, OR with the Ice Cream Trailer every Sunday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm through August 12th, for the 24th annual "Slice Of Summer" Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts will be playing on the 12th.  So if you like Ice Cream (we have at least 16 flavors and we serve Root Beer Floats) and you like old time Rock N Roll then you should come see us and say hello.  We would love to see you.

I hope this has brought some joy to you.

Happy Scrapin',

Janice
