It is that time of year again.

The VFW and Auxiliary State Convention started on the 14th.

I finally finished the scrapbook just in time for this years convention.

Yes, I said Scrapbook.  As in one  (1), singular. lol

Last year it was in 2 books and the year before it was in 3 books.

I am the historian and this is just one of my jobs.  This coming year will be different, because I was voted in as Sr. Vice President, which means I will be a little more busy, but I think I can still do the scrapbook for this coming year.

Without further delay here are some of the 68 pages in this years scrapbook.

In February and September we hold a Crop 4 Vets.
It's a small group that attends, but we have a lot of fun.  If you would like to join us, let me know 503-708-6889 or jwilson@bctonline.com
We helped get the Larry Dahl Memorial moved to a more appropriate place.
Larry Dahl's Son and Mother attended the ceremony.

The OC JROTC was invited to participate in the 50th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor event in Hawaii

Our Christmas party.
The Commander and President hand out the Scholarship awards.
February is our Post's Birthday and we celebrate.
Canby VFW Auxiliary puts on a great Iwo Jima Flag raising ceremony.

Our Patriotic Arts Winner.
If you ever get the chance to go to Bill's Place in Clackamas OR, you should go.  Bill has an amazing car collection and a great story to tell.  Bill is a member of Post 1324.

Steve took some WWII uniforms up to Pendleton for the event. The National Guard partnered with the Pendleton Air Museum to organize the Doolittle Raiders Gala, a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the air raids on Japan during World War II led by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle, and featuring 80 soldiers based in Pendleton.
The gala was a day-long affair that featured vendors, a display with World War II-era weapons and equipment, and military planes and vehicles from both World War II and modern day.
May 1st is Loyalty day! It is the day we retire the tattered flags that the community turns in to out post.  It's a huge ceremony done with honor and dignity. If you haven't been to one, you really should come.

Poppy Distribution started May 19th and ended on May 29th.  We had members at most of the grocery stores in Oregon City, Gladstone, Happy Valley and Wilsonville.
Our Honor Guard participates in the Mountain View Cemetery's ceremony and then comes to the post for lunch. We serve hamburgers and hot dogs to about 130 and have displays out from 12:00 -5:00 pm.

Here are some of the quilts we have made to go to the Portland VA Hospital in July.  If you would like to help or learn more about what we do please call me 503-708-6889.
