Vintage Camera Mini Album.

I'm so sorry, I usually post the classes before they happen, but this time that didn't happen. So here are the pictures of the Vintage Camera that we made on Saturday.

This is the first one that I made.  I found several different patterns for making one of these cameras.  I likes some aspects of each one, so I combined them the make this one.

This is the second one that I made, trying to get the instructions correct.

This is the third one that I made, I really like all of them.  I can see these made with all different colors.

If you would like to make this Vintage Camera, the cost is $15.00 plus 5.95 shipping.

I only have enough For Always paper to make 2 black cameras. I have enough Scholastic Paper to make 1 brown camera and I have several other paper packs that would make cute cameras also.  If you are interested let me know and I will show you all the options.

January 3, 2014 starts a whole new chapter in my life.

Some of you might not know that I will be turning 50 and I have to say I am kind of excited about it.  I don't know why exactly but I am.  Maybe it's because I never thought I would be pain free when I hit my 50's, but I am and I am so glad.  Now to get this weight off and start really living again.

My Husband is looking forward to retiring this year and I am happy for him.  He has worked a long time and deserves some much needed time off.  We might take a trip to celebrate, I don't know yet.

I will still be working my Close To My Heart Business and my Paparazzi Jewelry Business so you will still be able to call me, come over to visit and order or even take my classes.  Who knows maybe I'll start having more classes.  I do know I will be having more parties.  I am loving life. Disneyland isn't the only happy place in the world.

I hope you will join me in my new chapter, it's going to be a fun ride.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Family and Friends.  I know I am.

I haven't joined in on the 30 days of sharing why you are thankful, but I am truly thankful for my Family and Friends, that includes you, my followers.

I am thankful that I get to see my grandchildren every day.
I am thankful that I am married to my best friend who supports me in all my adventures, eventually.
I am thankful for my children who help me with just about any thing I need.
I am thankful that I am still pain free, 3 years now.
I am thankful for my family who live near and far.
I am thankful for my friends who keep me sane.
I am thankful for all my followers who keep me excited about what I do and encourage me to continue.
I am thankful my Mother taught me to cook, sew, and craft.

Again Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The diary of a Wimpy Grandmother.

Ok, so here is the newest "STUPID" trick I used to loose this weight.  I could have and should have just cut my portions, exercised and done it the right way, even if it takes a while.  But no, I met a lady selling Boresha Be Skinny Coffee in Vancouver when I went to the Clark County Women's Expo.  She is just the sweetest young lady.  I was in dire need of a cup of coffee and she had a booth.  So, I stopped and listened as she explained how she just lost 26 lbs in 2 months, by drinking this Coffee.  So I asked questions and she even got into the internet to show me the ingredients and what ever else I wanted to know about the products.  It sounded great.  I love coffee and I need to lose weight so why not.  I went home and thought about it.  I searched on the internet for scams and warnings and I didn't find anything.  So, I ordered a box of 20 pods to fit my Keurig.

I received the products on Oct. 31st.  It was awesome.  I planned to start the coffee diet on November 1st.

I woke up the next morning, all excited to get the new diet going.  I made myself a cup and started my day.  All went well.

I woke up on Saturday, had my coffee.  I hosted my crop and taught the Laughing Lola Mini Album,  all went well.

When I woke on Sunday November 3rd, I felt like the fibromyalgia had come back.  There was an elephant sitting on my chest.  My first thought was that the cat had been in the house for 8 days because of being spayed.  I am allergic to cats, but the Vet said I had to keep her in till she healed.  So I kept her in for 8 days, I put her outside on Wednesday October 30th.  I had vacuumed and mopped so it shouldn't have been that bad.  As the day went on, I couldn't move without coughing, so I used my inhaler to help me breath.  It helped a little but not much.  By the time my husband got home from work I knew that I should go into the urgent care.  First I called the Fred Meyer Pharmacy to see if I could use my inhaler more often than every 4 hrs.  The pharmacist recommended that I go in to be seen.  So my husband took me to the ER. By this time I was so weak and dizzy, I felt like I was going to pass out.  I had to hold onto something to keep from falling over.  I coughed so much on the way to the hospital I wet my pants, so Steve went back home to get clothes  As soon as they got all the information they put me in a room and started a Nebulizer treatment.  They finally called me back and started a 2nd Neb treatment and gave me Prednisone pills.  The Dr. also gave me a prescription of Prednisone to take for the next 4 days.  I was there for 5 1/2 hours.

Monday I went to see my Dr. and he started me on a Neb treatment and gave me a Cortisone shot.  He also sent the Nebulizer machine home and I had to use it twice a day for 5 more days.  All this time I've been drinking my New Boresha Coffee.

Tuesday I get up have my coffee, do my Neb treatment and still no improvement.   My Daughter came over and sent me to my stamp room so that she could start a deep cleaning to get the cat dander out of my house so that I could start getting better.  She even took the vacuum down and had it cleaned and the filters replaced so that I wasn't getting anything in the air from the vacuum.

Wednesday Dawn came back to work on the house some more and she happened to tell me that she and her husband bought a new thermos for him for work and how nice it was to have one that kept the coffee hot all day.  That threw up a red flag because Charlie didn't drink coffee.  Which in-turn made me think COFFEE!!!  I had been drinking the Boresha Be Skinny Coffee this whole time.  Not getting any better.  I bet it's the coffee.  So I did not have a cup of Boresha.  By the evening I had forgotten to do my Neb treatment until about 10:00 pm.  I had been needing to do it about 5 or 6pm.

Thursday I woke up feeling better, I did my Neb about noon, and completely forgot again that night.  I was feeling so much better.

Friday I woke up feeling so much better.  I called my Dr. and when Jon the nurse answered he was amazed to hear the difference in my voice.   In just the 2 days I went from a whisper that couldn't get 1/2 a sentence out to an almost normal voice.  He wanted to know what had changed.  I told him about the coffee and he said "Who would have ever thought Coffee could do that?"

I am almost totally back to normal.  I still have a cough here and there, but for the most part I am back doing all the stuff I love to do.  It was so scary for few days though.  I hope if you try this coffee you are very careful.  I love the idea behind the products, I think it wasn't a good fit for me as there are ingredients that say "Other Natural Ingredients" and I usually have an issue with products like that because they use something like Forsythia or Pine or something that I am allergic to.

So have I learned my lesson?  I would hope so, but you never know.  I sometimes have to learn the hard way and although, I don't want to go through this again, I am Human.

I hope this helps you to make better decisions when trying to loose weight, do it right.  Don't take shortcuts.

Janice

Halloween at my house.

My Little Minion Pumpkin.  Dawn and Charlie pick out a pumpkin for me when they went to the pumpkin patch.  Perfect for a Minion.
We asked Charlie to take a picture of us, but he was too far away.  We didn't want full body pics.  So he got a little closer.  He was so close, we thought he was trying to get a pic of just Dawn's eyeball.  Holy Cow he was close.
I did Miss Mary's make up based on a Scarecrow Dawn found on the internet.
I did Dawn's face and hair based on a pic she found for herself.
They both turned out really well, I think.
Here's the family photo.

Hope you enjoyed the evening as much as the little ones did.

Yeah!!! The last Birthday in October, at my house, has been celebrated.

Yesterday was Hailey's 8th birthday.  Dawn and I made all the decorations, or at least revamped them.  We found these little pink bags that worked well for the goodie bags for the girls.  We added the Duck Tape and Monster High sticker to the front and they look like they were made that way.
I made these bags for the boys.  I used some old paper and added strips of black and Blue cardstock.
I found something similar to these little books on Dr. Phil Scraps blog.  I used a 3 x 5 index card that I picked up at dollar tree a couple years back.  I used the Pro Player paper and Tech Speak for the images that I hand cut and put on the cover.  I glued a ribbon under the game controller and attached the other end to an ink pen.
I took streamers and added the skulls and the Monster High logo to the star at the bottom of the streamer.

I made a banner with Hailey's name on it to hang across between the living room and dinning room.
We found mini Top Hats at Party CIty and I added the Curly ribbon the side so that the birthday girls was a little different.  Look at that smile.

Tarina always makes the cutest cards.

I made her a card called Puppy Ears card.
She liked it way more than I thought.
When you pull on the tongue the ears pop up and on the inside of the ears it says Hi There!  Here is a link to the site where I found the card and the tutorial with pattern.
Dawn gave Hailey 2 - My Little Pony surprise packs from Toys R us.  she was showing me so I could take pictures and mom put the teal bag on Hailey's head.
Hailey is holding a mini Skull/magic 8 ball.
Hailey starting singing as soon as she put it on.
Grandpa had to try the hat on for size.
I made a mask for the cake and Dawn sprinkled Powdered sugar over the mask and then add the pink bow.
Uncle Luke even came over for the party.
I wish I had been ready to capture the look on Hailey's face when she opened the door and found all the decorations.  It was priceless.  She was so excited, we could hardly calm her down long enough to eat the Chicken nuggets, bacon and corn on the cob that she requested for dinner.

As soon as Dawn and the kids got home. I received a phone call.  It was Miss Hailey, asking me to make her another Puppy Dog Ear card, because she had broken an ear off on the way home.

It's Birthday Month at our house.

We have several birthdays to celebrate.  Jordan, Jayden and Mary share the same birthday October 3rd along with my friends Teri and Honallee.  Little Elvis' is on the 6th. Tammy's is on October 13, along with Jo's.  Zackery, Courtney and Kobe share the same birthday on Oct 14th. Gabe and Shavon share the Birthday.  On the 16th is Dawn's and the 17th is Lee's.  My Nephew Steve's is on the 22nd and last but not least is Miss Hailey on October 28th.  I didn't look at my Birthday calendar so I'm sure I missed someone.  It can get kind of crazy at my house this time of year.  We usually have a big Halloween birthday party for the kids, but not this year.  There are some of these birthdays that are not local and we don't celebrate them here, but we do remember them.

I love to dress up as much as the kids do.  I went to bunco the other night and it was a get wiggy theme bunco.  Here is a pic

Kumoricon 2013

My Sister and Niece brought my Great Nieces down from The Dalles, to go to Kumoricon with Jordan. They arrived on Friday and we spent the evening getting ready for the weekend.  Kumoricon is the Anime convention.

When the kids signed in to the convention, they were given a goodie bag with some booklets on the events schedule.  On the back of one of the booklets they had a scavenger hunt, it had pictures of people and their names.  They were to take pictures of these people to prove they had seen them.

Here are some pics from our adventure.

Jordan dared me to go ask someone if I could have a picture taken with them. Of course I couldn't let him down, especially when I saw Captain Jack Sparrow was in the park.  He had such a great costume.

Jordan told me who the guy in the box was, but I can not remember I just know it is from Minecraft.
Here is one of the many Aurora's that we saw.
I believe the one with the long green hair is called Ivy.
Of course Beetle Juice, don't say that 3 times, or you know what will happen. ha ha
This lady made her little Dragon, from How to train your Dragon.

Not sure who this is,
Where's Waldo was there too.
Tony Stark
This is the Happy backpack that Jordan wanted, but they were out when he found the booth, so he settled for a small plush instead.  I asked him if he wanted me to knock her down and take it for him, but he said no. sigh.

I am waiting for more pics from the girls.  Jordan found Jesus and they took a picture of them.  He told us a funny story about finding Jesus.  He had Grandpa's phone for the weekend and when he saw Jesus, he pulled the phone out to take a pic and by the time he opened the camera Jesus was out of his sight.  He said up ahead of him in the crowd he heard someone shout "I FOUND JESUS"  He said the whole crowd started laughing.

After the first day I asked Jordan if he just wanted to skip Mondays events, since he wasn't enjoying the convention.  He said well it's only till 3, so I might as well go.  That told me he was having a good time.  So on the way home Monday night, I asked him if he had a good time and he said "I had high hopes and the convention exceeded my hopes."  We will definately be going back next year.

Besides it gives me something else to scrapbook.

Kumoricon is just around the Corner.

Jordan decided he wanted to go to Kumoricon this year and so do three of my Great Nieces.  So my Sister and I are taking them.  It will be fun to see our grandchildren interacting.  Kumoricon is August 31 - Sept 2nd. in Vancouver Washington.

Two of the girls spent a week with me last month and I helped them with their costumes.  One is going as Fluttershy and one as Rainbow Dash.

This is the Fluttershy costume I helped make during spring break and I didn't get any of the Rainbow Dash costume.

Jordan is going as Edward Elric and Ash Ketchum.  We went a couple weeks ago to pick out the fabric for his red coat and we made it last week.  I finished it late on Tuesday.  Here is Jordan and Grandpa Steve.
I found the symbol that Edward has on his coat on google images and printed it out.  Then I decided that it was a clear image so I made a cut file and tried to cut it out on the cricut but it didn't work so I cut it out of cardstock and used it as a pattern and traced around the cut out and negative.  I then used wonder under to adhere the black symbol to the coat.  It looks huge on him, but that is what Edward wears.  He wanted to wear it to the movie yesterday, so I guess he likes it.
Edward wears a black outfit under the coat, which he already has, but didn't put it on for the pic.

Here Jordan is as Ash Ketchum, of course he will be wearing jeans and a black t-shirt under neath.
For this costume I took 2 shirts apart and made one, then added the yellow Duck Tape faux pockets and bottom band on the shirt.  I bought a red baseball cap at Wal-Mart and painted the front part white and found the green emblem on google and again I made a cut file.  This time I cut it out of Clear Contact paper to make it a stencil. I placed the stencil on the white part of the hat and painted it green.  It wasn't perfect but it worked.  I took a small detail brush and straitened the lines.
I am all finished with Jordan's costumes as of last night.

Before I started on Jordan's costumes for Kumoricon,  I was busy making Construction worker vests for a friend.  Dawn and Tarina helped me with those.  We made 22 vests that fit an infant on up to a 5 yr old.  We used orange Nylon that my friend purchased and Yellow, Chrome and Black Duck Tape.  I put elastic on the sides and velcro closures.  It ended up about $60.00 for all the vests and that works out to be about $2.73 per vest.  But that doesn't compare to the fun they had at the Birthday party.  My friend had a Large cardboard box for the boys to paint like a house.  Complete with windows and a picket fence.  They had someone bring a backhoe in and had a pile of sand and Tonka trucks for the boys to dig in.  They even had hard hats that they picked up at the Dollar Tree I think.  I wish I had a pic because the party looked awesome.  My friend said the boys had a great time.  The vest on top is the smallest and it was about 10" tall.  So stinking cute.

Maybe one of these days I can get back to my paper crafting.  I need to get some things done for the Clark County Women's Expo September 14th and 15th.
