There's Nobunny Like You | DT

Hello All!
Yes, I am still in love with the Hello Lovely collection from Close to My Heart Lol so I couldn't help but use it again!
This card features both, the Tea-rrific and Easter Bunny stampsets which are both Stamp of the Months. Easter Bunny is the February SOTM and Tea-rrific will be available as the March SOTM. Both can only be purchased during their feature months. I thought the girly bunny would be perfect to pair with Tea-rrific so I decided to mix the two and see what I’d come up with.

I did a few practice runs with my watercolors…..okay, like 9 or 10 practice runs lol I’m not usually that patient, but I happened to be today, thankfully! I did find that playing helped me get better at using them, so if you feel overwhelmed by watercolors, just keep trying, every new skill takes practice! This is the first time I’ve used my CTMH Watercolor paper and it’s definitely not a high quality watercolor paper. BUT, for light water use or backgrounds, it works great. And I do love that it’s made in 12x12 size.
I stamped the girly bunny in StazOn, Timber Brown ink so the ink doesn’t run while watercoloring. I also dried her after each color so they didn’t mix together. I added just a touch of blue around the outer edge of her to help her stand out from the background. I also added a bit of sparkle on the dress using the Gold Shimmer pen. Once I had her all dry, I trimmed down the WC paper into the shape of a tag and adhered her to another tag made from the pink polka-dotted paper. I used my Cropodile to punch a hole and looped a length of Blush Shimmer Ribbon through. I also add a bit of 3-D Foam tape to the back to help the tag pop off the card.
For the base I decided on a top fold card in White Daisy cardstock. And I knew I wanted to use the ‘There’s nobunny like you’ sentiment in Desert Sand Ink, with the girly bunny across the background. I was kind of thinking about how each of our moms are unique and each stands out from the rest in our own hearts.
I cut another piece of the pink polka-dotted paper and used my Edge Distresser to roughen up the top and bottom edges. I also trimmed a piece of the linen patterned paper just a bit smaller than the pink polka-dotted paper, distressed, and hand stitched along the top and bottom edges using white thread and my CTMH stitch guide/ruler. Then, I adhered both pieces about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the card base.

After placing down the tag to the left side of the card, I used the Spellbinders, Labels Ten, Nestabilities die set to cut out the 'There's nobunny like you' sentiment. I adhered this with a bit of 3-D Foam tape just on the right side so that it lifted to the same height as the bunny tag. Last things for the front, were adding some Bitty Sparkles, a couple Gold Glitter Gems and a heart from the Hello Lovely Compliments pack.
For the inside, I stamped the 'Happy Mother's Day' cup in Desert Sand ink, covered it with a mask, and then stamped the flowers on either side of the cup using the Timber Brown, StazOn ink. Once I removed the mask, it looked like the flowers were behind the cup. I watercolored them using the same colors I had used on the bunny. I did add a bit of green as grass below the cup and flowers. Last thing is adding a touch of gold sparkle!

Having a little fun.

I know this isn't scrapbooking or card making, but it is crafting. lol  I love all kinds of craft projects and when someone asks me if I can make something, I love to try.

So last month I was asked to make 3 Princess Leia crochet hats and 1 unicorn hat.  Well I did and here are the results.
I made 2 brown and 1 black Princess Leia hats.

I didn't follow any specific unicorn, some make them look like My Little Pony characters.

Miss Hailey saw the unicorn hat and asked me to make her one like Twilight, a My Little Pony.  So here are the results of that creation.

I make the ties longer on this one and she loves it.  She wore it to school and got lots of compliments.

Then a friend tagged me in a Facebook post about some frog slippers and so I had to try those too.
These slippers are supposed to fit a 6-12 month old, but I think they are a little bigger.
I need to barrow someone's little foot to see for sure. lol
I was just having so much fun.  I am taking orders if you see something you like, send me an email and I will get you a quote.  jwilson@bctonline.com  I will need a couple weeks notice due to other activities on my schedule.

I'm not sure I can make these without a purchased pattern, but they sure are cute.

Happy Crafting,

Janice

Happy Birthday!!!

Together is Our Favorite Place to Be | DT

Hello All!
I hope you've had a lovely week!
Today I'm bringin' you another card made with the Hello Lovely collection, found in the newest Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog.

I started this one out with a White Daisy card base and covered it with the sea glass floral pattern paper from the Hello Lovely collection. I find that I don't use the Desert Sand cardstock all that often, but this card begged for it to be used lol, so I had to go and search for it. Once I finally found it, I cut it down so that it left a border around all four edges.
Next up is the striped vellum from the Uptown Fundamentals paper pack. I trimmed this piece just barely smaller than the desert sand piece. This is adhered once the title cluster is placed down so I knew where to hide the adhesive.

The first place I started with my title cluster was the 'Together is Our Favorite Place to Be' die cut. It's found in the All Together compliments, from our current Annual Inspirations catalog. The ornate, sea glass, rectangle is a sticker from the Hello Lovely Compliments pack. I love how I can mix and match all the stickers, vellum and die cut pieces from the different collections! I'm pretty sure I've just developed an obsession😂

Once I adhered the sea glass sticker, using 3D Foam Adhesive, I was able to see where to place the adhesive to stick down the vellum. I then, added the die cut with my title on top, leaving a little bit of the seaglass color on either side.

Next, come the hearts! I used my Cameo to cut these little guys out of the same floral paper that I used for the base. I also cut two additional sets of hearts from just a plain vellum from my stash. Putting the floral patterned heart as the base, I stacked 2 layers of the vellum hrearts on top. Using my Close to My Heart ruler and a needle, I poked holes right down the center of each stack of hearts. I wanted to bring in just a touch more of white, so I stitched the hearts together by using just two strands from a length of white embroidery floss. Once the layered hearts are stitched, I adhere the remainder of the string behind them and used Mini Glue Dots to easily stick them down. *Tip- If you have the pieces to your card laid out how you'd like them, take a quick pic with your cellphone. It'll work as a guide to adhere the pieces back where you prefered them. : )
Most of the card is done by this step, but it needed a little shimmer and shine lol, so in comes the gold chevron stickers, which are from the Hello Lovely compliments pack, and the Grey Enamel and Gold Glitter Gems to finish it off. Somehow, I managed not putting any Bitty Sparkles on there! lol

Below is a recipe list of the items I used to create this card. All ingredients in the list are a link that takes you straight to the item @ janicewilson.closetomyheart.com.

Happy Everything Card | DT

Hello Everybody!
This is my very first design team post here at One Scraptastic Grandma! and I am SO happy to be here! I would like to thank Janice Wilson for giving me this opportunity! I truly hope to craft up to your expectations!

Without further ado…..

I absolutely adore the Hello Lovely collection from the new Close to My Heart, Seasonal Expressions Ideabook, and I’m very excited to be using it along with the newest of CTMH products!

I started out with adhering the blush w/polka dots paper from the Hello Lovely Paper to a White Daisy card base. Next, I trimmed down the whisper paper w/diamond shapes to leave a small border on all sides. Before adhering, I used my CTMH Edge Distresser to rough up all four edges of this piece.
To make the tag, I started with a rectangle and trimmed off one of the corners. I then flipped the little trimmed piece to the other side of the rectangle, lined it up with the corner and trimmed off that corner also. This makes the trimmed corners the same size and angle. Using a tag punch or die cutting machine works great too! I adhered the tag about three quarters of the way down, and all the way to the right of the card front.

Tying the bow was the next step. I’m not sure if you’ve tried, but it’s not all that easy to tie a tiny bow with ribbon, but I Love how this one turned out (I’m pretty picky about my bows lol). The softness of the Blush Shimmer Ribbon made it much easier to tie, and gives this tiny bow just enough sparkle to make a statement.

For the heart I really wanted to use vellum, so I dipped into another collection I’m excited about.
The Uptown Fundamentals paper pack has black and grey patterned papers, papers/vellum with gold foil, and the perfect, pin-striped vellum for the heart. also used the largest heart in the new Thin Cuts- Basic Hearts die set to cut it out.  When adhering the heart to the tag, adding just a little bit of adhesive to the center (from left to right) of the heart helps hide the adhesive from being seen.
Using the Way to Go stampset from the Annual Inspirations Ideabook, and Archival Black ink pad, I stamped ‘happy everything’ onto a spare piece of White Daisy cardstock and trimmed off any excess from around the greeting. I wanted the greeting to have a bit of dimension to it, so I used the 3-D Foam tape to adhere it to the center of the vellum heart. This also covers the adhesive used to adhere the vellum heart.
Saving the best for last, lol I added the bling! Bitty Sparkles and Gold Glitter Gems turned out to be just the right amount of bling to finish off this card.

Along with scissors and your favorite adhesive, here is the Card Recipe, or list of the products I used, to make this card.

I hope you enjoyed my first project, as I am very excited to get started on my next one! If you like what ya see, leave a comment down below.
We’d love to hear from you!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Need any Tupperware?

Oh boy, you are not going to believe this. Lol

I was invited to a "Quartermania" on Monday. Of course I had to ask what that was.

It's a quarter auction for Tupperware, bring lots of quarters.

Little did I know it was going to be soo much fun. I grabbed my quarters and took my Granddaughter Mary with me.  We get to this place almost late. Lol  They said pick a paddle for the auction. So I picked the #1.  They had lots of paddles left do they handed them all out.  I ended up with #1, #53 & #56. One time they called my #56, but I wasn't playing that one at the time.  Then they called #53.  Whoohoo I yelled, wait what just happened?  2 ladies were stealing my prize.  It was the coveted can opener, my favorite one. Well darn it, I didn't get it, but I did get some new teal Flatouts and a cute little heart.  They are pretty awesome too. So, they said you know the can opener comes in the kit and its only $39.00 to sign up.  Did you know the can opener cost almost as much to purchase it outright?

So you know what I did?   That's right, I signed up. So now I figure I can organize that new pantry and save myself a little moo-la to boot.

This is the mess I have right now. Can you imagine how much better it will look with some Modular mates in there?  I do have a few, but not enough to do what I need to in there. I'm also getting an onion/garlic bin and a potato bin too.  I can hardly wait yo dhow you how much better it's going to look. Let me know if you would like to order something or book a party.

Total mess.

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot. Because I signed up before February 3rd, I get the brand new micro-grill for FREE!!!  That is a value of $199.00. How crazy is that? If you hurry, you can get one too.

How cool is that?

Happy Scrappin',
