Here's some pics from last year.

Jean and Christina taking the Scrapbooking class

Tina, Heather, Bregan and Hailey taking the card class.

Laurie and Gina working hard on their projects.

Kate, Tina, Christina and Heather all working and having fun.

Hailey getting a massage.

Gina, Tina, Christina, Kate, Heather, Bregan, Hailey and me.

I didn't think quick enough to get a pic before Laurie and Jean left.

My granddaughters, Mary and Hailey helped hand out przes and gathered the silent auction bids. We had several members of our Auxiliary making and serving food. Pizza for lunch and a Baked Potato bar for dinner.

Last year we raised $431.00 for our Veterans, Military members and their families. And filled a 35 gallon barrell with personal hygiene products. You could help up raise even more this year.

I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces in September.

Opportunity is Knocking, will you answer?

In April, I celebrated 9 years with Close To My Heart. I have loved every minute of being a consultant. I don't always work my business as much as I would like, but that is the beauty of owning your own business. You can work it as much as you need or want to. You can take time off when you need to. Just remember that your business will not work it's self. You will still need to do things to keep it running. Just like your car. If you don't keep gas in it, it can't take you where you want to go.

So, if you have been wanting to join Close To My Heart and begin a new artistic adventure, now is the time.

Did you know that Opportunity is Knocking TONIGHT? - Thursday, July 21, 7:00 pm MDT http://fuze.me/32980098

Join the Opportunity calls via phone by calling 1-201-479-4595. To join online, go to http://fuze.me/32980098 a few minutes before the scheduled webinar time. You can also simply go to www.fuze.com or open the Fuze app and enter the meeting ID: 32980098. If you wish to participate online, we encourage you to download the Fuze application beforehand so you can be all set up to enjoy the webinar when it’s time to join.

Let me know if you have any questions, 503-708-6889.

I have a question for you!

I recently went on vacation and came home to a flooded house. All the flooring has to come up, so I thought this would be a great time to do a makeover on my sewing and craft rooms. New floors and new paint. I even plan on new organizing items too. I am planning on combining my Sewing room and my Craft room. I have a couple boards on Pinterest with some ideas pinned that I like and think will work in the room. Below is a picture of my craft room. please excuse the mess I am still taking things out so we can pull up the floor. Just last week this room was over flowing with stuff, floor to ceiling in some places. lol It is 11' x 17' with a large walkin closet that is 9' x 3' and 2 large windows to work around. I love how much natural light comes in from the windows. This room is also my office for paying my bills and preparing my taxes. I have 2 - 5 drawer file cabinets and the large 3 + mini drawer old military file cabinet you see in the pic. I might be getting rid of the Military file cabinet, right now it holds all my CTMH Cardstock plus my B & T papers and the 24" Cricut matts fit in the mini drawer on top too.

I plan on putting some kind of laminent flooring down soon, I am open for suggestions too, just not carpet. I need to keep it budget friendly too if at all possible.

I have asked Steve to build me a rack similar to this one to hold all my punches too.

We recently went to Goodwill and found 4 matching book shelves to hold all my fabric and they were only $2.99 each. You can't beat the price when reorganizing. I want to put them in the closet and maybe put 2 on wheels so I can move them, like this one is. I'm sure Steve has casters laying around here some place too.

The same day we bought the book shelves we stopped at a garage sale and I found a short book case that was hinged to another one and has pegboard on the backs, when you open them up it reveals the open book shelves. I want to turn them back to back and add a counter top for a cutting table, similar the the one below only the book cases would be back to back with no space between to save space. I have to say it was a steal at just $5.00 too. I have the counter top that I want to use on top already too.

My question for you is what color should I paint the room. Right now it is a light lavendar on 2 walls and a lavender and white faux finish on the other 2 walls. I used a twisted t-shirt to roll the paint on 2 walls. I love purple, but I'm thinking of a light teal? Teal walls and white accents or white walls and teal accents? White walls with teal and purple accents?

Please leave a comment so you can help me decide what colors to choose. Please feel free to add colors to the list and any sample ideas too. I am excited to get this room paintesd once the VFW Auxiliary Antiques and Collectibles sale is done this weekend. If you are local and have some time, please come by the VFW Post 1324 located at 104 S. Tumwater Dr., Oregon City, OR 97045 and check out the sale. Friday from 5-8 pm Saturday from 9am - 5pm and Sunday from 10am-3pm Don't forget to have lunch and try Janie Wills' homemade pies. They are a huge hit so stop by early.

Happy Scrappin',

3 Reasons Why You Should Become a Consultant Right Now!

Being a Close To My Heart Independent Consultant has a lot of perks: You get to make money doing what you love, plan your work schedule however you’d like, meet women with similar interests, and save big on products with your Consultant discount, just to name a few. But during the month of July, there are three MORE reasons to become a Consultant: Adventure, Whimsy, and Enchantment!

What are we talking about? Our brand new Fundamentals paper collections, which feature 24 double-sided sheets of beautiful patterned paper. And we’ve also created Complements (stickers and die-cuts) that coordinate with each Fundamentals collection that have three themes—everyday moments, baby, and school.

If you join as a Consultant in July, not only will you get to preview these products before everyone else (they’re not available to the public until August 1!), and not only will you get to order them before anyone else, but you will get one paper collection and its coordinating Complements for FREE! You can choose any of these three collections you want!

Did we mention that it only costs $75 USD to join, and you get $50 in Select Product Credit, which means you basically join for $25? Yeah, it’s a great deal and super low risk!

Because seeing is sometimes believing, we want to give you an exclusive look at the beautiful layouts you can create with these new Fundamentals collections and their coordinating Complements. Ready to be amazed?

3 reasons you should become a Close To My Heart Consultant right now! #ctmh #closetomyheart #beyourownboss #startyourownbusiness #scrapbooking #crafting

First up is our Adventure Fundamentals and Good Life Complements. There’s no stamping on this layout—all the embellishments you see—including those flashy gold die-cuts—come with the Good Life Complements, which are designed for everyday scrapbooking.

Here are our Whimsy Fundamentals and the Baby Girl Complements. If you choose to go with the Whimsy papers, you could also choose Baby Boy Complements instead, which feature silver foil instead of gold. And don’t worry, the papers can just as easily be used to create a layout featuring pale blues and greens instead of pinks!

Last up is our Enchantment Fundamentals and School 7–12 Complements. And no surprise here, you can also choose the School K–6 Complements if you want those instead. Either way, you’re sure to have the supplies you need to create an A+ scrapbook.

Here’s a re-cap on why now is the best time to join Close To My Heart: If you become a Consultant during the month of July, not only can you order all of these new collections and see all of our other new products before anyone else, but you’ll also get one Fundamentals paper collection and its coordinating Complements for FREE.

If you’re ready to become your own boss and make crafting your living, talk to your Consultant today or visit closetomyheart.com to sign up online.
