La Vie En Rose cards

Here are a couple cards I made using the La Vie En Rose paper pack.

I used a couple of Stampin' Up's punches to make the lables. 

Here is a sample that came in our newsletter for Close To My Heart, using the same paper pack,
La Vie En Rose. Here they have used the Beloved Bouquet stamp set, which is the Stamp of the Month, and added pixie cardstock   Aren't they all beautiful?

This paper pack is very versatile.  You can use any color with it and it will still look fabulous.

La Vie En Rose Scrapbook layout.

I am finally feeling better and ready to start the New Year off right.  I have lots of plans and scrapbooking more is one of them.  Of course I have to get the VFW Auxiliary scrapbooks done too.  Lots of sewing is in my plans as well.  I got some new sewing tools for Christmas so I want to try them out soon. 

Ok, back on track with the La Vie En Rose layout.

I created this layout using La Vie En Rose paper pack and the Beloved Bouquet stamp set which happens to be the Stamp of the Month.  I stamped the roses and poppies in Pomegranate ink and the leaves in Fern ink.  I then colored the poppies in with the Shin Han art marker Carmine. I colored the leaves in with the Olive and Citrus leaf watercolor pencils.   I wanted to show off our new watercolor paints, but I just haven't practiced enough.  That just gives you something to watch my blog for.  

(The picture on the right was taken on Sept. 5, 1981, the one on the left was taken Dec. 2009.)

I used Duck Easy Stick Adhesive to adhere all the paper pieces together.  I used my Micro-tip Scissors to cut around the flowers once I had them colored.  I also used White Daisy cardstock for the base of my layout, which does not come in the paper pack.  The red border is the zip strip that cut off the edge of the papers.  This one has words, Hugs and Kisses, You make my heart sing, I'll throw you kisses, you take my breath away, and from me to you. I thought it would be perfect to use for Valentine’s day or Anniversary’s.  In this layout I used pictures from our wedding and a more recent one, from 2009.  I don't have any current ones or I would have used it.  This shows our love for each other and that is what I was going for.  I don't have any journaling on the page yet, I'm still working on that.  I'm leaning toward “Still in Love after all these years"    

My friend Tina over at gemspaperscissors.com has a cute card made with this same paper pack.

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year.  

I was lucky enough to spend the last few days of 2015 in bed with a virus.

I am feeling much better now and hope the new year is better than the last.

I have a lot to share with you so go get your favorite beverage and get comfy.

With the new year, comes changes and like a lot of other companies, Close To My Heart has made some changes as well.  Some of you will love this others may not.  

We now have Thin Cuts dies, yes you read that right. We now have Thin Cuts dies.  I am so excited about that.  Love the dies that match our stamps.  I know we have the cricut, but sometimes it's easier to use the thin Dies than the Cricut.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my cricut and I will probably never give it (them) up, but I love thin dies as well.  I am not partial to one brand over another, as I have not used that many, but I do love the ones I have.  Check out the Thin Cuts here. 

We also have a new Planner Bundle and I love it so far. It is beautiful. I haven't used a planner in a long time, so it will take some getting used to.  I just started putting everything in my phone calander and that took some time to remember to do as well. 

I will be showing you all of these new things here in the next few days, but for now I want to talk about the changes in the paper packs and Workshops On The Go.
